COVID-19 Response

Carthage United Methodist Church is committed to provide a safe and healthy worship experience for our staff, members, and guests during the COVID-19 pandemic. CUMC follows closely the recommendations made by the CDC, the MS Department of Health, and the MS UM Conference Leaders.  This page will be updated as our response to COVID-19 changes due to recommendations be made by health and government officials. 

COVID-19 Procedures

Carthage United Methodist Church will take a two service approach to our Sunday morning worship.
All details and safety procedures are listed below.
If you are sick, experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19,
we ask that you stay at home and join us for worship on our livestream.

Mask Requirement

Masks are required for everyone in attendance during the duration of one's presence within the campus. A limited number of masks will be available each Sunday for those who may have forgotten their mask at home.

Social Distancing

Attendees are encouraged to maintain a minimum of 6 feet between themselves and other attendees who are not in the same family unit. Every other pew will be closed to encourage social distancing. Family units are encouraged to sit together as long as proper distance is available between the next family unit.

Legacy Worship

9:00 am
Reserved specifically for members & guests who are ages 60+ or for those who have serious underlying medical conditions.

Connection Worship

11:00 am
Open to members and guests of all ages.

Sunday school classes will continue to meet at 10 am, at the discretion of the class leader.

As of 12/04/20, Children's Sunday School Classes have been temporarily suspended.

Weekly small groups will continue to meet at the group leader's discretion.

Wednesday evening children activities will continue.


The nursery will be available on Sunday morning from 10 until 12.


I43 will continue to meet as scheduled. Masks are required for the duration of the service.
